Pay Online Using Your HSE Allowance
At Roches, we’re delighted to now offer the option to use your HSE allowance directly through our website, making the process as simple and stress free as possible.
When you choose to pay using your HSE allowance we will apply to the HSE on your behalf. Your order will not be processed or dispatched until the HSE approve your allowance. If your allowance does not cover the full cost, we will send you a payment link for the balance.

Before You Start
You will need some items to hand before placing your order.
- If you have a medical card you will need to provide the number. If you do not have a medical card you can skip this step.
- Has it been at least 1 year since your last application was approved? The HSE will only approve once every 365 days, so if you’re applying too early they won’t approve your allowance. We will inform you if this happens.
- You will need a letter/prescription from your doctor or GP itemising the products you need. This prescription/letter must be dated within 6 months, or the HSE will reject it. If this is not correct, or if items are missing from it, the HSE will not approve your allowance.
- If you need a wig or hairpiece your letter/prescription must state the word “wig” or “hairpiece”. It must also state the specific cause of your hair loss such as chemotherapy, alopecia areata, alopecia totalis, etc. Just noting “alopecia” alone will not be enough.
- Between €440 – €770 is available towards your wig or hairpiece.
- For breast care products your prescription/letter must state that you’ve had breast surgery due to cancer treatment and it must list the items you need.
- 2x mastectomy bras
- 1x breast prosthesis (2x for bilateral surgeries)
- 1x swimsuit
- 1x swim prosthesis (2x for bilateral surgeries)
- All totalling a maximum of €550 (€865 for bilateral surgeries)

Tip! It’s usually best to purchase all of your breast care products at the same time. This means everything will be approved on the same date. If you buy bras now and a prosthesis six months later, your allowance will be split across two different approval dates. This can make things more complicated in future years, as your allowance will renew at different times.
Order in 5 Easy Steps
Step 1
Browse our range of wigs, hairpieces or breast care products and choose which items you would like to order.

Step 2
Add your chosen item(s) to your cart and proceed to checkout as normal.
Step 3
At checkout, fill in all your billing details, ensuring they’re your official billing details.
You will have payment options to choose from – Credit / Debit Card, Paypal, and HSE Payment. Choose the “HSE Payment” option.
Step 4
Read through all notes under the HSE Payment section. If you have any questions please contact us.
- Upload your prescription by clicking the “Choose files” button. If you do not upload your prescription at this stage your order will not be processed until we receive it.
- Provide your medical card number (if applicable).
- Finally, “Place Order”.
Step 5
Order confirmation page will appear on screen.
We have now received your order and will apply to the HSE without delay. Your order will not be shipped until the HSE have approved your allowance.
If you choose items costing more than your allowance value we will send you a payment link for the balance.
