Caring for your synthetic hairpiece

Putting on your hairpiece

  • Turn your wig over with the hairline facing you
  • Place your thumbs on the elastic adjustable tabs at the nape
  • Tilt your head slightly forward & slip the wig on like a cap
  • Don’t cover your ears
  • Push the front of the wig back until it is at or slightly above your natural hairline
  • Pull ear tabs to adjust the position of your wig, do not pull from the lace front
  • Press the wire and ear tabs to form to the shape of your temples
  • If your wig feels too loose or too tight adjust the tabs at the nape
  • Set your parting and style

Washing your hairpiece

  • Detangle your wig and turn it inside out
  • Add Synthetic Hair Shampoo to a bowl of lukewarm water
  • Soak for 10 minutes. Do not rub or wring
  • Rinse inside out under lukewarm water, from root to ends
  • Add Synthetic Hair Balm to fresh water and soak your wig, inside out, for 10 minutes
  • Rinse inside out under lukewarm water, from root to ends
  • Towel blot to remove excess water, don’t wring
  • Allow it to dry naturally on a wig stand
  • Apply Synthetic Hair Conditioner spray to the damp wig

Caring Tips

Wash after approximately 10 wears

Do not brush while the wig is wet

Do not use a comb or bristle brush, it’ll make it frizz

Do not sleep in your wig or wear it lying down

Do not apply heat as it will singe the fibres

Handle lace front wigs with extreme care

Caring for your Human & Mixed Fibre Hairpiece

Putting on your hairpiece

  • Turn the wig over with the hairline facing you.
  • Place thumbs on the adjustable tabs at the nape.
  • Tilt your head forward and slip the wig on like a cap.
  • Keep ears free – don’t tuck them under the wig.
  • Adjust the front to sit at or just above your natural hairline.
  • Use ear tabs to position, not the lace front.
  • Press ear tabs to fit snugly at your temples.
  • Adjust the nape tabs if the wig feels too tight or too loose.
  • Set your parting and style as desired.

Washing your hairpiece

  • Detangle and pin to a poly head.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water, roots to ends.
  • Shampoo gently with fingers – don’t rub.
  • Rinse thoroughly.
  • Apply Human Hair Balm from roots to ends – avoid the cap.
  • Rinse with cool water to seal the cuticle.
  • Wrap in a towel to remove excess water – don’t wring.
  • Spray with Care’N Repair.
  • Air dry 1–2 hours or blow-dry, roots first.
  • If heat styling, use low heat and move quickly.

Caring Tips

  • The label inside the wig goes on the back of the head. At either side of the label are adjusters (Velcro / hook & eye) to loosen or tighten your wig as required.
  • The wig will look most natural if it’s worn on or slightly above the original hairline at the front.
  • Two tabs at either side of the front of the wig with boning (wire) stitched inside should sit opposite each other around the temple area. Your wig is on straight if these tabs are parallel and pushed in flat against your head.
  • Wash approximately every 10 wears.
  • Avoid pinning on the polyhead through lace or monofilament. Handle lace fronts with care.
