Meet Our Team

Thank you so much for everything that you’ve done for Joyce this year. I can only imagine how many families feel indebted to you as we do.

Like literally you are mentioned so often. Just the confidence you have given her and the ability to have a safe space to go to discuss, to run things past, it’s just unbelievable. So happy Christmas and lots of love to you and the team for how you have helped us. I know you help so many, but I just could not leave Christmas Eve go without saying Thank You”

Anne Roche

I’m Anne, owner of Roches, and a wig & hair replacement specialist of over 20 years.

I still fit some wigs, and hair systems, but most of my time now goes on developing our wellness centre, which is my passion project.

Having watched my mother recover from stage 3-4 ovarian cancer by taking everything offered, including, ‘The Getting Well Again’ Programme, I became very interested in the power of our mindset and lifestyle medicine in general and went to do research in this area. I trained and qualified as a Health Educator and Coach with the Simonton Cancer Centre’s Getting Well Again Programme

I am on the international Simonton Staff, delivering their online programmes. I am so excited to be offering this programme to cancer patients in Ireland now, from our workshop space in our Wellness Centre.

Nutrition also fascinates me. I studied plant based nutrition at Cornell University, and am a certified living food instructor from the Irish School of Herbal Medicine.

I love the great outdoors, whether that’s growing, hiking, biking, sea-swimming or campervanning in undiscovered places. Books, art, meditation, yoga and movies are my indoor loves.

I love my job because it’s creative and meaningful. I feel privileged to witness our clients’ resilience in the face of adversity and to know we have helped just a little, and it’s great to head up a team who are similarly motivated.

My top tip would be to dig deep, get informed and do everything you can to help yourself get well again. We are surrounded by untapped resources within and without, we just need to look, trust and get support.

Patricia

My name is Patricia. I have been a member of the Roches team since 2010. I started my hairdressing career in 1976 and haven’t looked back since. In the early days, my interests were in colours, cutting and styling and I loved the concept of working with people.

I have raised a family of three independent children and whilst doing so took some time away from my profession to focus on that moment in my life.

My timing to return to work happened naturally, I was drawn back to my roots and what I love to do as I am very passionate about helping people.

Since 2010, I have evolved into a more specialised area of hairdressing, where I commenced in my current role in Roches. My main area of work is in wig fitting, styling and hair pieces to give you a brief overview. I also had the pleasure of working alongside the late Brendan Roche who introduced and trained me in working with men’s toupees, which I also do on a daily basis. I get job satisfaction every day knowing that I am helping individuals who are going through a particularly difficult movement in their lives. If I was to try to describe myself in three words I would say I am compassionate, hard working and loyal, all attributes that are required in this role.

When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, swimming out in Portmarnock beach and going to race meetings with my family.

“My consultant was Patricia and she made me feel at ease from the start. I wasn’t sure what I wanted or anything about picking a wig. She was very knowledgeable, went through every aspect from picking, cleaning, general items needed, the whole package. The difference between each wig, costs, care, how I will feel etc. She was brilliant and would recommend. Thank you Patricia for making everything so easy for me.”

“I’ve just been to Roches for my first post-chemotherapy hair cut and colour. And what a transformation – I was delighted the results! Roches have given me friendly, sensitive and supportive service right through my treatment with wigs, hats, beauty and hair care products, massage treatments, and now hairdressing. Katy is a multi-talented star! I’ll be trusting Roches to look after my new hair”

Katy

Hi, I’m Katy, Hair Loss Expert and Holistic Therapist. With over 21 years of experience in the hair and beauty industry, I love all things organic and am here to guide you through all your hair and beauty needs. From an in depth scalp analysis to an organic hair colour service I can advise on all aspects of hair loss, hair replacement and hair re-growth and am here during each step of your journey.

As a fully qualified beauty therapist with specific training in oncology massage, facials, and hand and foot treatments, I am here to promote relief, relaxation and wellbeing in a safe environment during and after treatment

I am also a qualified make up artist and love helping out with Look Good Feel Better and our own well-being workshops in Roches.

I love bringing a smile and confidence back to clients during a time when they are not feeling themselves. Whether it is through choosing the perfect wig or hairpiece,  custom cutting it to their own style, or seeing the reaction when a client has had their first colour post treatment or giving someone a little TLC during a holistic facial or massage, being part of those happy moments within their journey is why I love what I do!

My top tip for clients:

  • Moisturise your scalp daily during treatment
  • Get a post chemo trim to allow your new hair to grow stronger
  • Look after your new regrowth with the right organic products to help the hair become strong, healthy and manageable as it is growing down – it will make a difference in the 6 months before your first colour

Samantha

I’m Sam and I’ve been working in Roches Breastcare for over 10 years! I’ve trained with all the main breastcare companies, such as Trulife, Amoena  & Anita. I am also delighted to be one of a few custom breast form consultants in Ireland offering more bespoke breast forms for women who need them.

What brought me to this job was my own experience of having breast cancer at 32 years old. I had a mastectomy and reconstruction and thankfully have never looked back.

As a young woman with 2 young children, I didn’t want to change who I was, what I did or how I dressed, and that’s what I love about my job, meeting and making a difference to all the lovely, strong ladies.

I love fashion and clothes and want to assist women in looking and feeling good about themselves. So I always bring that attitude into ordering lovely bras, swimwear and accessories.  I also love going out, socialising and travelling and am known as the social committee in Roches!

Top tip to my ladies is:

Always make sure to adjust the bra straps to look balanced. Your natural breast side may need a higher adjustment than your breast form side.

“This was my 2nd yearly visit for prosthesis, bras and swimwear. Last year I was traumatised and very vunerable and I was looked after with such empathy and kindness. This year, I was in a better place but again had a great visit coming away with everything I needed. The staff themselves are like therapists, they have walked the same journey and you couldn’t be in better hands. I would highly recommend Roches, it is outstanding.”

“My fitter was really lovely and being a breast cancer survivor herself, understood the challenges we face. I left with 2 new bras and a very comfortable prosthesis. I will definitely be back again.”

Maeve

Hello there! I’m Maeve, the Marketing & Operations Manager here at Roches. Joining the incredible team in November 2020, I wear many hats – occasionally assisting clients on the phone or at reception, capturing moments behind the camera, and keeping our website up-to-date.

What I like most about working at Roches is witnessing the transformation in our clients. When they initially arrive, I might meet them at reception or on the way to their consultation room when their body language and energy are nervous and apprehensive. Then, after meeting with our fabulous team the shift in their confidence is truly remarkable. Watching them rediscover themselves, taking control and having a pep in their step is pure joy.

My advice to clients? Embrace the journey with an open mind. Resist the temptation to scour the internet for the “perfect” wig or mastectomy bra. It’s not about what’s perfect for others but what perfectly suits your unique needs. Trust the process, come with an open mind, and let us empower you with the knowledge you need.

“I spoke to a very pleasant lady called Ella. The whole transaction was very efficient. I liked her very professional but kind approach. I had to exchange one item for a different size and there was absolutely no problem. Sometimes it can be difficult to get the exact correct fit in a prosthesis so it means a lot to be able to try different sizes…. Great to meet nice people and I will definitely be dealing with Roches from now on.”

Ella

In my very little free time (4 children at home),  I love indulging in a good book with a cup of tea in hand.

Whether you’re placing an order online at or visiting us in-store at 153 Kimmage Road Lower, Dublin 6W, know that you’re in capable hands with our team at the helm.
